Young People Summer Workshops

from £10.00

Our summer series of workshops for 13 - 18 year olds, based on responding to the work of Mareyam Smith.

As part of her degree Mareyam created a 1:12 scale Victorian house and a story following the lives of the occupiers and a mystery that unfolds. Each week we’ll look at different artforms used in the production of the work and encourage young people to create their own work responding to the theme.

In September we’ll host an exhibition in Malmesbury about the project and display the work.

All workshops are stand-alone, but will build up to a 5 week summer school for those who wish to do them all.

£10 per week / £40 for all 5

29 July - Workshop 1 - Printmaking - using sketching and drawing techniques to develop templates for printing and creating a final piece.

5 August - Workshop 2 - Drawing in perspective - in the studio or if weather permits, outdoors, sketching in perspective

12 August - Workshop 3 - Miniature Worlds - creating a detailed pencil sketch of a garden and create their own miniature garden 3D model.

19 August - Workshop 4 - Character Creation - using sketching, collage and storyboarding, create or develop a character for the house

26 August - Workshop 5 - Create Your Way - use all the skills learned over the summer to create your final exhibition piece or develop a piece from an earlier workshop
