Saturday 25th April and/or Saturday 2nd May
Join textile artist, Janice Botterill for a morning of colour-drenched creative textile experimentation.
Inspired by this month’s gallery exhibition we will spend the morning making and creating with fabrics, threads and paints.
We will seam, cut, rip, knot and weave as well as stitch, stick and layer. You'll learn simple stitches, techniques and quick tips along the way.
Janice says “I’ll be bringing as much fabric as I can carry to the session but if you’ve got an old tote bag, shirt or t-shirt just crying out for a bit of TLC bring it along and we’ll make a start on its transformation”.
Your tutor, Janice Botterill, makes drawings, collages and quilts, preferring the slow, quiet methods of hand stitching. She uses vintage and re-purposed fabrics and threads as much as possible with fabrics and threads woven through multiple pieces. You can see more of her work on Instagram @slowquietwork
Registration is just £1 but places are limited in number. If you can afford it, please select the payment £10 to help us cover our costs. Booking is essential.
Please note that the workshop space is on the first floor, stair access only.
