Frequently Asked Questions
What does Caerbladon mean?
Malmesbury is an ancient town and holds the earliest Town Charter in England. Caerbladon is the pre-Roman name for Malmesbury and means the Hill Top Fort surrounded by the River Avon.
What is your purpose?
We set up Caerbladon as a CIC (Community Interest Company) and not for profit, to promote creativity and art in the Malmesbury area. We do that by exhibition and selling work by local artists, by bringing exhibitions of interest to Malmesbury, and by developing projects. We work with young people aged 13+ and hold workshops for adults and we run the Flying Monk Art Trail. We say ‘See Art, Make Art, Own Art’
When are you open?
Monday to Saturday 10 - 4.30pm. We don’t open on bank holidays. We have a website and any items purchased can be collected from the shop but we don’t currently operate a mail order service.
